The Chicest Celebrity Haircuts Of 2018 You Have To See

Hair inspiration is seemingly endless, especially if you take your styling cues from celebrities. With the industry’s best experts at their beck and call, A-listers have been known to switch up their looks at almost every appearance. But this year, and especially in the past six months, we’ve gleaned a major trend in the chops that stars are choosing, making a case for the universal length of 2018.

Yes, the pixie is fresh, and we can always appreciate long layers. But by and large, the chicest chops have fallen in the lob-bob length range, somewhere between the chin and shoulder. The biggest takeaway, however, is not necessarily the length (because it varies), but more about the styling, the unique spin each celeb added to make their cut killer.

Ahead, the 2018 chop trends sweeping celeb culture. Just take this to your next appointment, and you’ll be stepping out looking like an A-lister in your own right.

This past spring, Leighton Meester made a huge hair transformation from Blair Waldorf-brown to platinum blonde, after a six-hour(!) appointment with hair colorist Aura Friedman. But as of July, the actress has returned to her signature brunette shade, and taken the length shorter and choppier for the perfect effortless summer bob.

@itsmeleighton

Lena Waithe just said buh-bye to her long locs. The Master of None actress posted her “new tings” on Instagram, showing off her razor-short buzz cut, crediting @barberdolltheslayer for the work. We’re loving the subtle swoop etched at her hairline.

@lenawaithe

Supermodel Irina Shayk arrived at the DSquared fashion show in Milan with a choppy, textured bob and piecey bangs in a reddish-blonde shade, a stark change from her usually long, sleek dark brown hair. Given that her stylist, Sam McKnight, has a way with wigs, we’re thinking this chop might be temporary — but it’s so chic, we wish it was the real deal.

This spring, Dua Lipa took some inches off the ends, landing her a trendy shoulder-length ’90s cut that’s all kinds of British rock n’ roll. Courtesy of hairstylist Anna Cofone, the star’s style is super versatile, worn effortlessly undone, swooped to the side, or parted straight down the center.

Photo: Bryan Bedder/Getty Images..

Baby V got baby bangs. Earlier this year, celebrity hairstylist Chad Wood gave Vanessa Hudgens a chin-length bob and wispy bangs. The look is ultimately sleek and stylish, but the subtly flipped ends make it fresh and fun.

Photo: Jon Kopaloff/FilmMagic..

The Handmaid’s Tale star Madeline Brewer recently traded her long, weighty waves for a healthy shoulder-skimming style.

Photo: Taylor Hill/FilmMagic..

Hairstylist Nai’vasha Johnson gave Yara Shahidi a blunt bob and coiled bangs for the MTV Movie & TV Awards, proving that a razor-cut geometric bob looks amazing on natural hair.

Photo: Frazer Harrison/VMN18/Getty Images..

Emilia Clarke keeps creeping shorter and shorter above the shoulders. Whether by preference, or just to ditch her damaged ends, we’re loving the face-framing cut on her.

Photo: Gary Gershoff/WireImage..

At this year’s Billboard Music Awards, Mila Kunis debuted fresh, choppy bangs. The style is perfect for the actress: It draws attention to her eyes and blends perfectly with her wavy lob.

Photo: Steve Granitz/WireImage..

Not only did Leighton Meester go shorter for summer, she also went a whole lot lighter, taking her hair full-on platinum blonde for the first time with the help of celebrity colorist Aura Friedman. Transitioning from Blair Waldorf-brown to icy white is damage waiting to happen, but the shoulder-length cut helps make the color work on the actress’s fine hair, keeping the look super-healthy.

Photo: Desiree Navarro/WireImage..

Taraji P. Henson has experimented with cuts and colors that run the gamut, but this year, she stepped out with a chestnut-brown asymmetrical layered bob that we think is a serious winner.

Photo: Ethan Miller/Getty Images..

This spring and summer, Viola Davis has been styling her chin-length curls in a modern iteration of the Diana Ross ‘fro.

Photo: Jim Spellman/WireImage..

Saoirse Ronan ‘s pin-straight, razor-precise bob, courtesy of master stylist Adir Abergel, made a statement with its sweet simplicity.

Photo: Kevin Mazur/WireImage..

Our favorite Emma Watson is an Emma Watson with baby bangs. This year, the actress stepped out with layered, shoulder-length waves, and a fringe cut to the middle of her forehead.

Photo: Taylor Hill/FilmMagic..

Much like Saoirse Ronan, Margot Robbie wore a face-framing short style at the Oscars. The difference? Hairstylist Bryce Scarlett added some subtle soft waves and a deep side part for dimension.

Photo: Frazer Harrison/Getty Images..

If you’re trying to take your hair shorter but are worried about it falling flat, take a pointer from hairstylist Ursula Stephen, who jazzed up Jourdan Dunn’s bob with messy bends. It’s a lightweight style that doesn’t sacrifice any body or volume.

Photo: Dimitrios Kambouris/Getty Images..

Hairstylist Laurie Heaps usually keeps Rowan Blanchard’s hair on the shorter side, but earlier this year she showed us how to make the simple cut a little edgier with choppy bangs and airy texture. Better still, this style is great for summer; it actually works with humidity, since it’s only made cooler with a slightly fluffy finish.

Photo: Jamie McCarthy/Getty Images..

Solange changes her hair up on the reg, but our favorite look by far is the big chop and style that birthed this insanely gorgeous halo of platinum blonde hair.

Olivia Culpo Channels a ‘Nancy Meyers Movie’ and Pays Homage to Her Roots in her First Home

Olivia Culpo‘s first grown-up home is just like her — polished, pretty and more than a little glam.

The actress and model picked out her Hollywood condo for its cool, loftlike feel and architectural details, including an oddity for the West Coast: exposed brick walls. “I was definitely attracted to the character in this building and you don’t find a lot of that in LA, so it reminded me of where I’m from on the East Coast,” the Rhode Island-raised star, 26, tells PEOPLE in this week’s issue.

But its dark wood floors and black painted walls felt too masculine, she says, and made the open-plan apartment seem cavernous.

“I’m a really girlie person, so I wanted a much more feminine environment,” says Culpo, who next stars in the Bruce Willis action flick Reprisal. “I wanted to feel like I had a bachelorette pad.”

“She’s got that East Coast, preppy vibe about her, so the minute we started chatting I was envisioning some sort of interior from a Nancy Meyers movie,” says designer Orlando Soria, who along with online-decorating service Homepolish helped bring her ladylike rooms to life with pale furnishings, blush accessories and hits of polished brass.

“We combined light colors, which are traditionally seen as feminine, with strong geometry, traditionally seen as masculine, to create a space that felt neither too childish or too industrial,” explains Soria, who chose pieces from Hayneedle, including a pair of tufted ottomans that stand in for a coffee table.

Though they didn’t make any huge structural chances to the space, the pair did build a custom closet for the fashion lover and a dining nook in one corner that Culpo says has the best light in the house for snapping Instagram photos.

Though the social media star is frequently traveling for work, when she is home, you can find her in one spot: “I definitely lay in bed for so long and I watch HGTV,” she admits of her crash time.

The bedroom’s walls are lined with gold-framed mirrors to visual expand the cozy space, and of course for the Culpo to check her look before heading out to the other place she feels right at home: a red carpet.

After nearly a year-long process of making it her own, the finished apartment finally reflects its stylish owner. Says Culpo: “It’s glam. It’s modern. It’s everything that I wanted it to be. It’s perfect for me.”

Paris Jackson Poses Topless in New Re/Done x Weejuns Campaign Photos

One day after Paris Jackson was spotted on set with her tattoos covered up, she’s putting them all on display for a new topless campaign with RE/DONE + Weejuns.

The 20-year-old daughter of Michael Jackson and Debbie Rowe teamed with RE/DONE for its latest collaboration with the brand, G.H. Bass & Co. The company known for repurposing vintage Levi’s jeans into revamped, sustainable new pieces, is not putting its cool twist on the iconic Weejuns penny loafers.

Paris models the two new loafer styles, one a flat shoe the other with a three-inch heel, but they’re not on her feet! In the photos (shot by Juergen Teller), she covers herself up in the shoes, demonstrating that they’re both great for walking and to use as a bra!

RELATED: Everything Paris Jackson Has Said About Beauty, Her Body and Ignoring Haters

In the topless photos she shows off her many tattoos (she has over 50 of them!), displaying the colorful chakra tattoo down her chest, the spoon tattoos she got with her godfather Macaulay Culkin and many more.

The newly “re-done” loafers come in 16 different styles and color ways, which include crocodile print, leopard and black pairs with studded detailing.

The new RE/DONE + Weejuns footwear range will be available at Barneys New York, net-a-porter.com and shopredone.com on July 19.

This isn’t the first time the model has posed topless. In October she shared a snap of herself to make a statement on body positivity. “Comfortable in my rolls. f— wit me,” she captioned a photo of herself bent over on a chair with her face cut out of frame.

When it comes to swimsuit cover-ups, sarongs are near the top of the list. The wrappable pieces often give off tropical vibes thanks to floral or palm prints making them even more appropriate. But you don’t have to invest your summer cash in a bunch of sarongs you’ll never use inland.

Wrap skirts are sarongs’ more versatile cousins and they’ll see some heavy rotation in your wardrobe this season. That’s because the skirts can serve as cover-ups or just your daily bottoms teamed with a basic white tee, tank or frilly blouse. And they come in more varieties than those themed sarongs. Feeling sporty? Look for a wrap skirt that resembles a tennis skirt. Got a big date? Opt for a flamenco-inspired take complete with ruffles. Or take the trend with you to the office with semi-conservative versions HR won’t object to.

Whatever your summer plans, wrap skirts have got you covered. Shop 19 of our favorites above and spend that extra sarong money on a cute one-piece or oversized straw hat.

Along with powerful sunblock, tiny or embellished shades (depending on what’s in this time next year), a good book and an outsize straw hat, confidence will be a necessary accessory next summer. According to the designers at Miami Swim Week 2019, showing a lot of skin is once again in, this time from top to bottom. So better have a waxing professional on speed dial if you’re going to try next year’s top swimwear trends.

We’re talking plunging one-pieces more revealing than bikinis and bikini bottoms that are so tiny, they’re almost nonexistent. On the flip side, rash guard-style suits were in great supply, though they’re not exactly designed to keep you safe from scratches, scrapes and the sun while you ride the waves. And if you love extra accents, no matter how unnecessary or cumbersome, 2019’s swimwear trends will have you covered.

Scroll through the slideshow to see the five major swimwear trends that made a splash at Miami Swim Week 2019.

Traditional Arab menswear gets a style upgrade

Saudi Arabian fashion designer Hatem Al-akeel is making his name by giving the traditional Arab thobe a makeover. Called a dishdasha in Oman and Kuwait, and a kandoura in the United Arab Emirates, the thobe is a long-sleeved, ankle-length tunic. Often teamed with a colorful cotton keffiyeh headdress, it’s standard formal attire in the Arabian Peninsula — the equivalent of a Western-style suit.

9 Examples of Seriously Cool Interactive Tools, Calculators, & More

Jeff Bullas may have put it best when he said “No doubt you’ve heard the phrase ‘content is king,’ however…. I believe that ‘interactive content is king’.”

Marketing continues to change at a rapid pace because consumers and end-users are continuously evolving the way they engage with content online.

It seems fewer people are opting into reading long whitepapers or eBooks and, instead, gravitating towards content that is more actively engaging, quick to consume, and catered personally to them.

Hello, video, right? But video isn’t the only content option you have when wanting to provide your users with fun, personalized content.

Interactive content like calculators, assessments, generators, and quizzes among other things can keep users engaged with your brand and on your page longer with useful, relevant information while often still giving your team the ability to capture their opt-in information.

In fact, statistics show 88% marketers list interactive content as an effective way to differentiate their brand, with 58% saying their existing content doesn’t create enough opportunity for engagement.

From ROI calculators to style assessments, let’s take a look at 9 effectively engaging interactive content tools and what you can learn from them.

1. HubSpot’s Website Grader

I’ve lost count how many times I’ve used HubSpot’s Website Grader as a tool to show clients just how vital improvements to their website are.

The headline “How Strong is Your Website?” grabs any user’s attention who is considering a website redesign. It presents a challenge; an opportunity to see how your work stacks up to HubSpot’s standards.

After plugging in your URL and email address (there’s that clever lead gen aspect), you then receive a free “grade” of your site.

website-grader

The entire report is customized to your website. It breaks down four critical areas: performance, mobile, SEO, and security.

Then, if you saw a concerning score, it would be hard not to convert on the free trial offer at the end of the result page to receive HubSpot’s default configuration.

2. ThirdLove’s Fit Finder

Did you know nearly 80% of women wear the wrong bra size on a regular basis?

ThirdLove set out to solve for this issue with its Fit Finder® quiz, a personalized tool where women are able to answer a few short questions to find a better fitting bra.

thirdlove-fit-finder

The best part?  They provide users with the reassurance and confidence that their Fit Finder works saying, “We’re confident you’ll love the fit, feel, and style of our bras. If you’re not 100% happy with your purchase, we’d love to help.”

At that point, you can order a bra to try on in the comfort of your home for free. You’re only charged for the bra if you love it and keep it, andany returned items are donated to a charity to provide bras to women in need.

Even if they’re not in the market for a new bra, I think it would be hard to find a woman who wouldn’t take this quiz even out of curiosity.

3. ClosetWorks’ Style Quiz

When I was decorating my apartment, I wished I had Joanna Gaines on speedial but, alas, no such luck.

Decorating or organizing your apartment is an extremely personal thing. More often than not, it’s a reflection of your personality, lifestyle, and what’s important to you.

ClosetWorks (A former IMPACT client) offers custom organization solutions and with this  style quiz, users can select different furniture styles, patterns, colors, and more that best match their personal taste.

closetworks-quiz

What I love most about this offer is that the results page not only offers you a simple explanation of your style, but also includes related resources you can use to get started decorating or organizing.

4. Sydcon’s Assessment

Sydcon (another former IMPACT client) provides custom software development and the most commonly asked question by users is if they truly need custom development for their project.

To help answer that question, Sydcon created an interactive assessment for users to take.

ydcon-assessment

In this assessment, users simply select what their main goal is and a few points about their project before entering their name, email, and company name to receive their results.

Not only is this personal to the user’s project and help answer their biggest question, it also helps qualify leads, alerting sales to those that are (and are not) a good fit to work with.

5. Trunk Club’s Style Profile

Founded in 2009, Trunk Club set out to solve a simple problem:

“Building a great wardrobe is hard. We make it easier by connecting people with personal stylists, online or in person at one of our six Clubhouses.”

It all starts by creating a style profile that is then sent to a personal stylist.

trunk-club-quiz

During the style profile assessment, you go through a series of questions that not only focuses on your style but also your budget.

For both men and women, Trunk Club shows you multiple clothing and shoe options, posing the question “How much do you typically spend on these items?” with the goal of ensuring you’ll be sent items in a price range you’re comfortable with.

From there, you’re able to communicate with your stylist — reviewing and approving select items to be shipped your way.

This offer is great because it takes into account all of the common factors that people consider when shopping for clothing to deliver results that you’ll truly be happy with.

6. HubSpot’s Advertising ROI Calculator

No surprise here that HubSpot has made our list twice; the marketing platform is renowned for creating creative, engaging, personalized content on a regular basis.

And why not? When it tested it, personalized content performed 42% better.

Here we have its  ad ROI calculator, another favorite tool of mine.

Unlike Website Grader, the ROI calculator is completely ungated (meaning you don’t need to give up your email address or name to engage with it).

You do, however, need to have a good understanding of your business.

For instance, you need to be able to enter an estimated amount for a monthly budget, targeted conversion rate, average sales price, and more.

hubspot-ad-roi-calc

The result is so worth the thought. After scaling the fields to reflect your appropriate estimates, you can a full breakdown (in real time!) of:

Number of clicks
Number of leads
Cost per lead
Value of a lead
Expected revenue
Expected profit
Return on ad spend

Now, even though this doesn’t have a form attached to it, this page is clearing targeting a very specific issue. If HubSpot takes a look at the contacts who have visited this page and it could have a good idea of what pain point or problem they’re trying to solve.

7. Employee Fiduciary’s Pricing Tool

Employee Fiduciary (a current IMPACT client) provides low-cost 401(k) plans to small business owners.

Can you guess what every employer wants to know?

Cost. How much will opening a 401(k) plan cost me?

To help answer that question, Employee Fiduciary created a quick and easy-to-use pricing tool where users can answer 2-3 questions (depending on their first answer) to see exactly what their annual base fee will be.

employee-fiduciary-401k-cost-calc

The results page then goes on to provide fee comparisons of more than 50 other 401(k) providers, solidifying the fact that Employee Fiduciary is truly the low-cost provider.

8. ISideWith’s Political Quiz

Though they say never talk politics in business, this has to be one of my favorite quizzes.

ISideWith allows you to answer questions to unbiasedly see which political parties and candidates you side with.

Politics are hard! And if the last presidential election taught us anything, it’s the power of persuasion and perception.

ISideWith helps citizens see — without prejudice — what officials they should be voting for based on how well the users’ personal beliefs or answers align with the different candidates’ stances and viewpoints.

isidewith-political-quiz

Try it out! You may be surprised with the results.

9. TRUPOINT Partners’ Budgeting Tool

When your department’s budget is often scrutinized, every dollar counts.

When TRUPOINT Partners (another IMPACT client) realized its target audience of compliance officers had a hard time determining a proper budget for their compliance programs, it set out to provide clarity.

trupoint-compliance-budget-tool

TRUPOINT’s Budgeting Tool does this by allowing compliance officers to see what kind of budget range they should request when planning for their compliance program.

Get Interactive!

Regardless of the format your choose, interactive content tools can help engage your user and create a more memorable experience with your brand that’s worth talking about.

But more than that, tools like those I shared can also increase your conversion rate. In fact, interactive content like these calculators, assessments and quizzes can convert twice as much as passive content like articles.

So, are you going to give interactive content a try? What cool examples have you come across? Let me know your plan in the comments below!
